Industrial Landscape

This is probably my favorite picture from my walk.  It’s a shot of the old industrial area of Portland with Mount St. Helens in the background.  I think its really pretty!

Strange Taste

Here’s another picture I took while on a walk a few days ago. It really reminded me how everyone has different tastes. Glass balls on the roof? Really?

Master of Nothing

I ran across this while on a walk the other day. I thought it was curious enough to take a picture of! Not sure what the lock is actually there for.

Not Prepared

Cities here in the Valley are always caught by surprise when it snows. We just don’t get it often enough to be prepared. Here’s a good example: a “chain up area” covered by snow from a passing plow.

Freezing Rain

It’s dangerous, but it sure does make for some pretty pictures!

Utilities

I liked how the snow piled up to the exact same level on each of these utility boxes. I didn’t check the readings, but I’d bet the needles were pretty far over to the right. I’m sure everyone had their heaters on to try and stay warm!

Snow!

It snowed in Portland just before Christmas. The office was closed for a couple of days, so I got out to take some pictures. This one is my favorite, but I’m going to be posting more too!

Petrified Forest

Every now and again its fun to play around with HDR. I thought the different layers in this scene presented the perfect opportunity.  What do you think?

Portraits

Every time I look at this picture, I see a different face in the tree roots. Can you spot one too?
